Description word là các từ dùng để miêu tả, nó bao gồm hết tất cả các từ dùng để mô tả như mô tả về hình dạng, màu sắc, tâm trạng, thuộc tính,v.v.v... Ví dụ như miêu tả về hạnh phúc có các từ blissful, cheerful, delighted,...., miêu tả nỗi buồn có các từ dejected, depressed, forlom, glum,..., miêu tả về hinh dạng, big, huge, small,...


Description word bao gồm tất cả các tính từ, hoặc các từ không phải là tính từ nhưng được dùng để thêm vào danh từ(nouns) và động từ(verbs) để mô tả về màu sắc(color), hình dạng(shape), ngoại hình(figure), tính chất(kind), số lượng(quantity) nhiều hay ít,...

Từ mô tả (descriptive words) có rất nhiều, và để dễ nhớ các ngôn ngữ gia, giáo viên, người viết sách đã tạo nên vô số các danh sách về từ mô tả (descriptive words list) theo từng chủ đề khác nhau cho dễ nhớ và dễ học, dưới đây là một số danh sách bạn có thể tham khảo.
